2023 CHINATOWN INSIDER: FILM SCREENING AND ARTIST PANEL
Engage with three different artists who explore issues related to Seattle's Chinatown on Saturday, May 20 from 1-3:45pm. This event features Maria Gargiulo's East of Occidental (1986, 34 mins), Han Eckelberg's Mak Fai Insider (2022, 16 mins 29 sec) and Stewart Wong and the 1886 Chinese Expulsion Art Project. Screenings will be followed by a panel with artist and filmmakers.
2023 THE NEVERENDING COMIC ART WORKSHOP WITH TUAN NGUYEN
Join artist Tuan Nguyen, who will guide participants of all abilities, to express your stories of healing and joy using ink brush and markers on Sunday, May 7, from 1:30-2:30pm as part of the closing events for the exhibit, Reorient: Journeys through Art & Healing.
2023 REORIENT EXHIBIT CLOSING EVENT: SPEAKERS PANEL
This closing event will raise awareness on the importance of our emotional and mental health and how art and expression can be used as tools for nurturing our sense of identity and overall well-being. Panel speakers include Lourdez Velasco, Linda Ando, Dr. Natacha Foo Kune, and Wynne Pei. Moderated by Matthew Echohawk-Hayashi.
