INSCAPE ARTS OPEN STUDIO & INS BUILDING TOUR
Saturday, December 3 | 11:30 - 1:00 PM PDT | Tour begins at Wing Luke Museum
This tour coincides with INSCape Arts Open Studios and Holiday Market from 12 PM - 6 PM. After the INS Tour, explore the INScape building:
Five Floors Of Studios and Artists
Pop-Up Holiday Market
Artist In Residence: Lila Thomas
Bush Garden Karaoke in the Sankofa Theater
High Wall indoor exhibit
For the first time in-person since 2020, walk through the halls of the current INScape Arts Building, the former Immigration and Naturalization Services Building that sits on the edge of our Chinatown International District neighborhood.
Retrace the paths of Seattle's immigration history from Chinese settlers and laborers, Japanese American community leaders imprisoned in 1942, to the Southeast Asian refugees navigating a new country in the 1980s. To understand the race-based immigration landscape of today, immerse yourself in the stories of those who lived through the very beginnings.
This tour is 1.5 hours long, and approximately 1.0 miles. Tour begins at Wing Luke Museum. INS Building has elevator access onsite but has some spaces that will require one step down to access.
Tour is offered on Saturdays at 11:30 am. If you are interested in organizing a private experience for a large group of 10 or more, please email tours@wingluke.org.
